Natural materials paired with a strong, modern design define Dune Villa V by BNLA Architecten, nestled within the dunes of Zeeland, Netherlands. Accessed by a sculptural staircase that ascends the landscape, the home reveals a façade rich in windows, creating a seamless connection between interior and exterior. The surrounding views become an extension of the living spaces, offering a breathtaking atmosphere—especially at sunset. This immersive experience only deepens upon entering the house.

The designers approached the house with a playful composition of split levels, echoing the natural variations of the dune landscape. This layered design enhances the experience of the surroundings, allowing each space to connect differently with nature. Careful attention was also given to the choice of façade materials—sustainable elements like wood and natural stone help the home blend seamlessly into the transition between forest and dune, creating a harmonious relationship with its environment.

The use of materials gives the house a refined yet rugged character, enhanced by subtle black accents. Inside, a combination of varied wood tones and natural stone creates a warm, organic atmosphere. Great attention has been paid to lighting, down to the finest details, resulting in a space that feels both inviting and atmospheric—seamlessly extending this sense of comfort from the interior to the exterior.

An oasis of peace and relaxation, infused with luxury and design—this is how BNLA Architecten describes Dune Villa V. In collaboration with interior designer Nicemakers, the project achieves a refined balance between natural elements and contemporary aesthetics. The result is a luxurious retreat where architecture and nature come together, offering a serene escape designed for fully experiencing the surrounding landscape.
